We have limited funds for persons or families that are behind in their rent and are facing imminent eviction (less than 2 weeks until they must be out of their home). Please call Centralized Intake for program screening to see what area programs may be available. (540) 271-1701.
What is HPP? The Homeless Prevention Program (HPP) provides temporary rental assistance to low-income households at imminent risk of homelessness. Security deposit and temporary rental assistance can be granted to homeless families and individuals who have found permanent housing.
Participants of the HPP program have the potential to receive assistance including arrearages. During this time, they are given an opportunity to work on their financial literacy, improve earnings and to save money so that they will be able to have housing in the future. This program is NOT designed to be used for permanent housing assistance. It is intended to divert one instance of homelessness and a partnership for growth and stability.
